A LECTURE ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Ms Ann Martin, a Fullbright Fellow, lectured our students of Batx 1 on her research about Climate Change and Resource Recovery from Organic Waste. Her research compares her native California with Catalonia in terms of waste recovery and how this influences our climates in the short and long run.
This lecture was provided by the cultural service of the U.S. Consulate in Barcelona and it was extremely informative for our students.

ESO 2 C.S: ARCHERY
As part of their final credit, students spent 3 days in the beautiful Cerdanya. Among other activities, they practiced archery and learned about the history, rules, and interesting facts of archery in English.

JAPANESE UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS VISIT US
On Monday 2nd of March 2015, two university professors from Tokyo University visited our school. They are in charge of writing the new curriculum for English as a Foreign Language in primary and secondary schools in Japan and were interested in watching a CLIL class and in meeting up with the teachers of English of IES Icària.
They watched and recorded the class of Computers Made Easy and later joined a meeting to discuss our methodology, CLIL project, materials etc. It was a really interesting exchange. Thank you for choosing us!

HIROSHIMA UNIVERSITY TEACHERS AND DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OFFICIALS VISIT US
On Thursday March 27th we received the visit of 3 officials from the University of Hiroshima and from the Ministry of Education in Japan.They were specifically interested in our CLIL program. They attended a class of BATX 2 A and a roundtable. It was a great exchange of opinions and experiences.Thanks to all who participated!

DANISH TEACHERS VISIT US
On Tuesday, March 25th, a delegation of Danish teachers visited our school. We offered them a guided tour of different classes: English, Music, P.E, Biology... to show them our methodology and the philosophy of our school. They were accompanied by former student Albert Barrero and Mr. Robert, from UAB. Thanks for coming and thanks to all the teachers who collaborated!
