THE FUTURE OF LEARNING- A lecture by Professor Cavallo, MIT researcher

A summary of Mr.Cavallo's inspiring lecture at ITWorld Edu Conference:

-We are still teaching people for a world that belongs to the past. To change it, the biggest obstacle is our fear of change.
-We are designing learning materials for the world that WAS, not for the world that WILL BE
-The paradigm has shifted
-How can we use technology to raise the level of students?
-Does school teach what people need to know?
-School and learning must engage, it must not tell the answer; it must help students find the solution.
-Projects must engage.
-Many things that are done in schools are just historical remnants.
-Schools should be learning environemnts instead of places where information is taught.
-We are underserving our children and our community
-The idea is to make learning FUN. It may be HARD, but HARD FUN.
